Connecticut Natural Gas Announces Diversity Awareness Grant Recipients
Hartford, CT, November 26, 2001 - The Connecticut Natural Gas Corporation (CNG) has award grants to four community agencies and four schools for the development of diversity awareness programs.
CNG established the grants to encourage development of programs that teach tolerance and understanding of different cultures, religious, ethnicity and those with special needs.
Community organizations receiving grants are the Hartford Public Library, Hartford; Police Department, East Hartford; New Britain Conversations on Race, New Britain; and the Bethel A.M.E. Church, Bloomfield.
Schools receiving grants are the Silas Deane Middle School, Wethersfield; Henry Dwight School, Hartford; Avon High School, Avon; and Emerson Williams School, Wethersfield.
Grants are limited to schools and nonprofit organization located in CNG's service area, which includes greater Hartford, New Britain and Greenwich.
