ORANGE, Conn. — August 27, 2026 — Connecticut Natural Gas (CNG), a subsidiary of Avangrid, Inc., joined local nonprofit Angel of Edgewood for the 6th Annual Back‑to‑School Extravaganza, held on August 25 at Dunkin’ Park in Hartford. As a sponsor of Connecticut’s largest back‑to‑school event, CNG and dozens of community partners helped ensure students begin the school year prepared, confident, and supported. Around 2,400 attendees enjoyed an afternoon filled with live performances, giveaways, youth activities, and connections to organizations offering year‑round support.

“CNG is honored to support an event that brings real impact to families across Connecticut,” said Frank Reynolds, President & CEO of CNG. “We’re committed to supporting initiatives that lift up families, expand access to resources, and help children feel prepared and confident. Partnering with organizations like Angel of Edgewood allows us to make a meaningful impact and strengthen the communities we proudly serve.”

The theme for this year’s event was “Beyond the Backpack: Where Knowledge Changes Communities,” reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening families and expanding opportunities through education. Eligible students from Pre‑K through college received free backpacks and school supplies, along with access to educational resources, wellness information, and community services.

“We are grateful to have community parters that elevate our mission,” said Jendayi Scott-Miller, founder and CEO of Angel of Edgewood. “Our partners, including CNG, help us create a space where families feel seen, supported, and celebrated. Together, we’re helping students start the year with the tools and confidence they deserve.”

CNG’s sponsorship reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting community‑based initiatives that promote education, equity, and long‑term success for Connecticut families.
