Making Our Communities Better

Connecticut Natural Gas, United Illuminating, and Southern Connecticut Gas, all part of the AVANGRID family, are committed to having a positive impact in the communities we live and work in by dedicating our efforts on creating partnerships with organizations focused on the well-being of our customers and employees.

To apply for support, please complete the form below and email it to: fundingrequests@uinet.com. Applications are typically reviewed once a year in November for the upcoming year. If the request is for a time sensitive event, please make sure that date is clearly identified in the proposal.

Important Considerations

  • CNG, SCG, and UI do not fund organizations which discriminate based upon age, race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability, family status or sexual orientation.
  • Funding support will be for one year only.  We do not make multi-year commitments.
  • Funding will not be considered for organizations that are not tax exempt under the Internal Revenue Service Code, individuals or politically-based organizations.

2026 Community Relations Grant Request Form

Currently, we have fully committed our 2026 budget for funding. Please feel free to submit an application which will be kept on file should any changes to the current budget come about. Otherwise, please apply for 2027 funding by November 2026.

Outreach Requests 

 

At UI, SCG and CNG, we like to meet our customers where they are, especially through attending community lead events. Our team will engage with your attendees and provide resources about how to lower their energy costs through our programs, incentives, and behavior modifications, ultimately saving them money and making their home or business more energy efficient while also supporting the clean energy transition. Resources include our energy efficiency programs, payment assistance programs, and incentive and innovation pilots, among others.
