CNG ERT Exchange and Upgrade Project
We are upgrading your older ERT modules to ensure your natural gas billing stays accurate and reliable. This free service helps prevent estimated bills, surprise charges, and ensures uninterrupted gas service.
Why are we upgrading?
We are currently working to replace older Encoder Receiver Transmitters (ERTs) modules that are at or past the end of their service life, in the Greenwich, CT service area.
ERT modules are devices installed on your gas meter that securely record and transmit your natural gas usage to CNG. This ensures accurate billing and helps to prevent estimated billings, the possibility of surprise charges, and extra visits from our technicians.
What you need to know:
These upgrades are provided free of charge and require access to your gas meter to perform the work needed. This upgrade is required to better serve you and ensure reliable natural gas service and accurate billing.
Meter and ERT Replacement
Some ERT modules scheduled for replacement are attached to meters that are also nearing the end of their service life. To minimize disruption, we’ll replace both the meter and the ERT at the same time when needed. You’ll receive one of two notifications: one if only your ERT needs replacement, and another if both your meter and ERT require replacement.
